Pathways for January 19, 2025: Sit Down to Rise Up – Shelly Tygielski

Shelly Tygielski is the  author of the new book, Sit Down to Rise Up: How Radical Self-Care Can Change the World. Shelly is the founder of the global grassroots mutual aid organization Pandemic of Love. She is also the co-founder of Partners in Kind, a purpose in production equity fund that invests in social impact in entertainment projects.  Her work as a self-care activist, community organizer, and mindfulness teacher has been featured by over 100 media outlets, including CNN HeroesThe Kelly Clarkson ShowCBS This Morning, the New York Times, and the Washington Post. A trauma-informed mindfulness teacher and a former Garrison Institute Fellow, she has been called one of the “12 Powerful Women of the Mindfulness Movement” by Mindful.org. Shelly is currently working on her doctorate degree at the Lilly School of Philanthropy at Indiana University.
